I have many photo dumps to do, but here is today's. COOKING ADVENTURES!
Chocolate Chip Crunch Cookies. Left is done with the stoneware cookie sheet. Right done with the metal tray and a silpat. Can we tell which one I will be using in the future?

Now some Garam Masala Chocolate Gingerbread with Royal Icing! (Gluten Free
Cribbed icing bags:

I was studious:

(BTW Anya, these are yours)
And I tried out some new cookie cutters:

"What Darth Vader began to realise, was that when Boba Fett said, 'As you wish', what he really meant was 'I love you'."

TK-421, WHY AREN'T YOU AT YOUR POST?

Then I realised that I had a shitload more icing than cookies, and I started to get irritated:

So I iced the rejects:

I made a lot of things over the holidays:

But I forgot to make pictures of them. However, I am starting to write a cookbook in post-it notes. Thanks Gypsy. BUT! Before I forget!
I made breakfast in a muffin:

They aren't pretty when the come out of the oven. I can think of ways to make them more aesthetically attractive:

But when you cut them in half!

And that is my cooking odyssey for December and Stuff.

Date: 2011-01-17 06:32 pm (UTC)Breakfast in a muffin (by Joanne Fluke)
Date: 2011-01-17 07:02 pm (UTC)2 cups flour
1 T white sugar
1/2 tsp of salt
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
3 large eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup butter melted
12 strips bacon fully cooked
12 small/medium eggs
1/2 cup shredded cheddar, swiss or jack cheese
In a large bowl combine the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Stir them up all together with a fork until they're evenly combined.
Break the 3 large eggs into a med size bowl and whip them with a whisk. Add the milk and whisk, add the butter and mix well.
Make a well in the bowl with the flour mixture. Dump the liquid mixture into the well and mix it all up with a spoon until everything is well moistened.
Grease a pan with 12 muffin cups or a jumbo pan with 6. FOR SRS. GREASE THEM WELL. I used PAM.
Give the batter a final stir, and then put a spoonful of batter in the bottom of the cups, enough to cover the bottom.
Form one strip of bacon into a circle that'll fit inside your muffin tin. Press down in the batter like a little circular fence. Do the same for the other muffin cups.
Crack and seperate a med size egg. Put the white into a bowl. Slide the yolk inside the little bacon circle and repeat. I use the leftover whites for lunch or meringue or something.
Divide the remaining batter among the partially filled cups just spooning it on top. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top.
Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes (for 12 regular tins) or 375 for 25 minutes (for 6 jumbo muffins).
You can reheat these in the microwave. The batter is light enough that I bet you could put a little syrup on it, like a pancake.

Date: 2011-01-17 06:40 pm (UTC)I kind of want your Garam Masala Gingerbread recipe but I'm afraid it'll be a little too much like chai. I can only handle a small amount of chai before it starts tasting off to me. Why? Who knows?
