I was curious for my wordcount this year, so I think I'll go by month of posting, not month of writing, because I usually post right after I finish, but also, I have multiple things going on. This year took for EVER.

Statistics:
Number of fics: 59 approx
Collective word count: 345,544
Shortest fic: (859 or 419 or 187 or 277, depending on the word counter)
Longest fic: 24,700 (Leviathan)
Slash: Gen: Het: Femslash: Threesome/some type of mix: I hate this shit.
G: PG: PG13: R: NC-17: NO.
Favorite of the year: Ep 6: The Salt Pillar, actually, if not the cannibal undertaker fic. TSP was one of those things that all seemed to blend together seamlessly once I'd had a good Pooh-like think about what was going to happen. The salt pillar mixed with the ghost hub, and the whole scene where they hit the deer and then Dee discovers Jack and Gretchen, and add in Gwen's nostalgia, and it became this sort of biblical, mythical, alien idea that in retrospect makes even more sense than when I thought it up. If anything can be said for unconscious writing and the absence of author intent that becomes seemingly purposeful, this fic is it.
Best of the year: Unworn World is the best. It was the best because it was co-written and still manages to be frighteningly intellectual, and funny, and sad. It's in character but cracktacular. It's shattering in some ways, and it made, for me, mpreg something I could write. Because the idea of a man bearing kids isn't the issue for me, it's the assumption of heteronormative crap, and also this whole stereotyping of pregnant behaviour. I didn't like it when I saw "Look Who's Talking" and I don't much care for it now. Also, have I ever mentioned that Cruentum is an amazingly easy writer to work with? I know you're all like, "O_o?", but he is.
Most under-appreciated: The Good Spirit of the Forest, because I was and am in love with it, but barely anyone read it, mostly because there's no Ianto and people hate CoE.
Most fun to write: For Science (and the lulz) , because of the whole origin of the fic in an email conversation, and then the betaing process in googledocs that was lolarious. Also, it can never be bad when Jack takes an axe to the chest. For science.
Sexiest fic: Closed Set, actually, but for sheer sexy scene, I think the Jack/Ianto from Clarity with the doctor's kit is one of my favorite sexy foreplay scenes ever. It was playful and everything. If I had to go for serious sex with no actual humour, I'd say, Signals: Turn, Hazard, from Space and Otherwise, for the ending scene with Jack's imagined Tosh/Ianto.
"Holy crap, that's wrong even for you": I was gonna say the Ianto/Owen enema one, but I really think the Ianto skullfucking Jack's dead body wins that.
Fic that shifted my own preconceptions of the characters: Dear Ianto, because it made me confront a Jack who is rough, and a little bitter. I wanted that unrelenting pursuit of sexual pleasure at the same time without sentimentality. Yet through it all, Jack displays affection for Ianto that reveals that he might feel deeply for the man. It's rough and raw, and it involves a My Little Pony in a disturbing way.
Hardest to write: My yuletide, possibly Attention, Shoppers. The first I had never written before, and the other I think I might have lost my touch with.
Biggest disappointment: Some of my sockpuppet fics, in particular a DW/Star Wars xover. It just needed to be longer, I guess.
Biggest surprise: Smoke 'em if you got 'em, because I really hadn't planned on anything super serious for the RPF fest, but it became this big THING, and also, I loved writing high John Barrowman.
Most telling: Attention, Shoppers I THINK EVERYONE WHO READ IT GUESSED IT WAS ME. Not that I was trying to hide. On the other hand, if anything is telling this year, it's Maggie's journey in my TWS4. TELLING.
I'm adding one category-- Most Satisfying: and that would be all the Gold Dust supplemental stuff. I love that universe. It's so easy to write.
And now, some ideas for next year:
1. TOSH FPREG
2. THE REST OF TWS4
3. A SEQUEL TO TO LET. DON'T ASK.
4. ABOUT 50 SHORT STORIES
ALSO, THIS YEAR WE DO THE FANDOM WRITES CHARITY SHORT STORY ANTHOLOGY. IT'S HAPPENING, PEOPLE.
So yeah, I think I'm gonna take a nap.
