1. All my writing is stalled. Done. Terrified of feedback ever again. Just ::hand waves:: pffft. Post its will save me.
2. I need a beta. For a Harry Potter fic. Must be willing to look at 49K. Must have seen 28 Days Later and remember the concept of it. Must like violence. The first 30K are clean, beta wise, but I need eyes to see how that 30k slams into the last 19K. If interested, pm or email me.
3. FUCK YEAH SHARKS is great this week. Don't forget to click the "Sharkify" button in the right column.
4. The kid is in a mood. I am in a mood. This is what it's like when worlds collide. Send pie.
5. Torchwood and I have fallen out with each other, and right now I rather hate her. I did a dozen post its, but they are very very mean spirited and I just pasted them into my book without scanning them in.
6. I hate paying bills. Send accountant. And pie.
7. Sore from sword fighting. Out of shape. Need more beer. Send help. And pie.
8. Weeds continues to rule the universe. Supercedes the awesomeness of pie.
9. Angel volume 3? Not so much. Barely redeemable with pie.
10. I think my printer is possessed by Satan. I have to reinstall the drivers. Again. Send exorcist. And pie.
11. I don't actually like pie. All is woe. Send cheesecake.
12.
unovis_lj is feeling down about her writing, which I love. I love the writing, not the 'her being down' bit. So here, for her, I list my favs, in my increasingly incoherent form of feedback that no one will appreciate but me:
An Old Night in Marseilles, in which Amanda is wearing a Napoleonic hussar uniform. A bit of clothing porn. I love a crossdressing woman in uniform. Reminds me of Tipping the Velvet.
Rejoice for the HLH exchange in 2008. GOD I love her imagery, her Shakespeare and Company setting, Bloomsday, Molly Bloom's monologue all threaded into a vague and unspecified request made to Duncan to Come. (Oh ha ha, sweetling, I see it now: Rejoice=Re-Joyce, you sly devil.)
Clothing Stories. Look, TW may have it's share of suit!porn, but Unovis made it fucking pie. Her Suiting Up and Tied are two of the best fucking suit!porn stories out there, lush, detailed, and she knows her clothes. Unovis taught me everything I know about the sexiness that is suit!porn, and what she didn't know, she pointed me towards with references. She is the suit goddess.
So…, in which it starts with the sex. But it's about how Methos has met Duncan before, he's seen him several times, and what Duncan doesn't know won't hurt him. Methos's flashbacks are almost involuntary, the way the memory is played in a five thousand year old man. She uses 'louche', people. Louche. God, bb, I love the way your dialogue is broken and natural and slippery, like a waxed crash test dummy.
BB, ILU, and your fic. Now write me some smoking hot Penny/Sheldon. Tshirt!porn is the new suit!porn?
And while I'm pimping things that are not in my current fandoms, I wanna pimp myself: back in 2007 I wrote a conceptual thing for the X-Men movie verse, and I think it's awesome. I ♥ it, actually, and while there are places that I think it falls, it really stands well in others, and it made me think about reader versus speaker, and about the non linear nature of narrative when subjected to the concept of not having a speaker, per se. So anyway, I liked it then, and I was proud of it, actually, so I'll pimp it now: You Like This Angle, Shoot.

Date: 2009-07-20 03:59 pm (UTC)They have some really grat moments, and the fish, man, I love the fish, but I feel like the Illyria arc is getting a shaft, and Spike is relegated to humor (which is all he does anyone). Wesley steps up his game as the book goes on, and I wish we saw more of secondary characters, like Groo. But I think that becomes petty whining on my part.

Date: 2009-07-20 08:02 pm (UTC)Pie is always good even if the pie is cheesecake.
John Barrowman as a DJ is crack on crack. BBC2. It's good for several laughs. Also, his musical taste is in fact, CRAP. (I always suspected, but now it's confirmed.)
I hope things get better. :)
