Kunyu: I never really considered [Spock] doable before, but hey.

There's just issues that that relationship brought up
Amand-r: Does she mess up his hair? Because that has to fucking happen.

Amand-r: There has been discussion of that.
Kunyu: Well it's just common sense. No fraternization!
Amand-r: I forget what the consensus was about it.
Kunyu: It's the Enterprise so no one cares? It's life death situation, it's okay?
Amand-r: BAH. IN TOS, EVERYONE WAS FUCKING EVERYONE ELSE.
Kunyu: He lost his mom and his planet, he can have a girlfriend?
Amand-r: Being banged by the Captain is like, part of your yearly review on the Enterprise.

Kunyu: Back to the original question. I don't know if Tianyu would have liked it.
Kunyu: I mean...everyone likes it.
Amand-r: I think Tianyu would have creamed himself in the movie, and then come home and bitched about it.
Kunyu: Exactly! Like, he would have picked one detail to bitch about and not let it go.
Amand-r: You know, once his shorts had cooled and dried. He'd have been like this, "well, yeah, I came in my pants, but then it dried out and got crusty and I'm left with funky ass shorts. The movie was like that. (extended dramatic pause) The movie is like my semen encrusted panties."
In fact, I'm fairly sure that I just channeled his ghost.
Kunyu: wow, panties. Hahaha excellent.
Amand-r: MAN PANTIES. Then we would have diverted away from reviewing the film to talk about the fact that Tianyu had just used the word panties. Just as you did.
And then he would have said something sexual and funny in the line at 7-11, while we waited to pay for out post-film slurpees and taquitos.
Kunyu: hahaha. From what I recall, Tianyu owned like one pair of boxers. And all he wore were briefs. Mmm, slurpee...
Amand-r: Tianyu owned about four pairs of boxers.
Kunyu: This was in like high school though.
Amand-r: Several of which he inherited from me. One was pink and white striped.
Kunyu: hahahaha oh wait. I think I remember seeing those at one point somewhere in the laundry.
Amand-r: Yeah. Tianyu, usurper of underwear. In his defense they were men's boxers.
Kunyu: haha, still. Underwear thief.
Amand-r: Very much so.
Kunyu: that is a stigma that shall not be overcome.
Amand-r: He was like the underwear gnomes from South Park.
Kunyu: hahaha. Dudes.

Steve went into the movie VERRRY grumpy pants about it. He kept babbling about it being like "Dawson's Creek" due to the young and spunky actors. All in all though we both came out satisfied. There were only a few technical things that only nerds would notice, but other than that we're coming out thinking that it's the "best" Star Trek film yet. "Best" in that it not only apeals to the die hard nerds, but to a wider public, without cheapening the franchise.

Oh...and Steve was upset that young Kirk didn't do the Kirk Two Fisted SMASH on the enemies back....apparently new Kirk is far more skilled at fighting.

I saw the movie this afternoon. I'd argue that Kirk isn't any better a fighter. He still gets the crap kicked out of him a couple of times, but puts firearms to good use. He's damn cute though. (Would rather bed Bones though).
