Note: This challenge is ongoing.

So upon [livejournal.com profile] idyll's request, I am opening the floor to more conversations between Tim Gunn and other fandom characters. I have no idea how I got into this. Use the following thought: Without justifying how the crossover would work, how their worlds clashed, or how they could even meet each other. Just a silly crossover conversation with no backstory, for fun.

Fire away. List of available fandoms here.

Already done:

Tim and Bob (from Harry Dresden, books)
Tim and Methos (from Highlander)
Tim and Gunn (from Angel)
Tim and Mr. Rogers
Tim and Severus Snape (from Harry Potter)
Tim and Jayne Cobb (from Firefly)
Tim and Father Jack (from Father Ted)
Tim and Cordelia (Angel)
Tim and Mason (Dead Like Me)
Tim and Logan (X-Men Comics)

Tim and Severus Snape, s'il vous plaƮt! :D

"Severus, I'm concerned." Tim crossed his arms and pursed his lips.

Snape blocked his dress form from view. "It's not done yet."

"But I'm really worried, because you know what Nina is going to say."

Severus rolled his eyes. "One would think that the whole fashion world is pulled by strings that grace the fingers of Nina Garcia, fashion director of Elle magazine."

Tim sighed and looked over his glasses at Severus. "Every dress you've made has been monochrome black."

"I like black. Black is my vision as a designer."

"You made a wedding dress."

"So? White is overused."

"You are so lucky that Moody's dress was worse."

"A potato sack with armholes would have been better than the rags Moody put out."

Tim stared at him. "Alright then. Make it work."

Yeah, Moody is the Santino of Hogwarts PR.

This is about the funniest thing ever, and the money I'd pay to actually see that season of Project Runway would be astronomical. Your voices for these characters are so spot on that the images in my head were so detailed.

You are full of internet win.

Carry on.

Srsly. It's easy for him to win because everything MacGonagall designs is plaid, and the judges just flatly said that Dumbledore's taste level isn't there.

You so totally win. I've gotten quite into PR this season--I watched a little bit with the housemates last season, but this time I'm into it earlier. Good times.

HA! That's perfect! I imagine that Snape is the designer that no one quite understands and that every challenge his work drives Tim to circle the room a few times before approaching him with "concerns" and then always ends the frustrating conversation with "Carry on" or "Make it work" but somehow Snape is just brilliant enough that he's never eliminated and will most certainly go to Final 4.

Tim and Jayne Cobb

From: [identity profile] amand-r.livejournal.com
"So the firearm isn't just a fashion accessory."

"Naw. It works."

"Mmmmph. And the hat? Are you using that to hide something?"

"My mam made me this," Jayne said indignantly.

"Mmmm." Tim glared at the cup in his hand.

Jayne fidgeted. "What? Is it the color? I like the color."

"No no, the hat is working for me. However, this drink is not."

"It's called Mudder's Milk."

"It's preposterous."

"Hell," Jayne drawled, "don't matter what it tastes like. After the first few swallers you won't care."

Tim set the empty cup down and gave Jayne an appraising look. He was going to mention that Jayne had all the guns, but he was the one with the name Gunn, and how funny that was. Instead, he just flipped a tassel on Jayne's hat.

"You know, the hat is growing on me."

Omg, I have Tim/Jayne in my head now, and I think my brain just exploded! This was great--their voices were spot on and passing off guns as a fashion accessory is so Jayne.

I think for Jayne it would be a fashion necessity! But I can totally see him coordinating based on the occasion like people do shoes and purses.

"DRINK."

"Thank you. Oh my, what is this? Old Crow?"

"DRINK."

"Mmmmm. So, this whole priest thing, how's that going?"

"ARSE!"

"I see. I would imagine, what with the scandals and all." Tim moved away from the man, mostly because he was lovingly stroking a bottle of Toilet Duck. "Is that coat binding?"

"BIG BRAS."

"Oh. Well, then, at least it's not wool."

"THAT WOULD BE AN ECUMENICAL MATTER."

DC's Golden Age Sandman (Wesley Dodds). IIRC, the guy wore a green suit, orange fedora, brown cape, red gloves, and yellow gas mask. He fought crime. (Did you know that congenital color blindness is much more common in males than females?)

Date: 2007-12-17 08:59 pm (UTC)

Yes in the color blindness thing, no on the Sandman. I'm not well versed enough. I should amend my fandom list. I knew I should specify no silver or golden age. Dammit.

Try again?

Mr. Rogers was colorblind.

"The sweater is nice, and I like how you change your shoes when you come in the house."

"Well, thank you." Mr. Rogers returned to his spicy cashew chicken.

Tim sat down in the booth across from him. "I'm sorry. I'm just such a fan."

"That's wonderful. Do you have children?"

"No. I just like King Friday." Tim folded his hands. "Tell me, is Lady Elaine Fairchild gay?"

Mr.Rogers smiled and reached for the yellow peppers. "I've always thought so. Peppers?"

Tim smiled and dragged his plate over from the next table. "Please. And tell me one more thing—"

"Yes?"

"Do you still have Mr. McFeely's phone number?"

As a resident of Pgh, Mr. Rogers went to the Sezhuan House in Squirrel Hill all the time. My friends used to see him there.

Tim gave her the eye. Cordelia shuffled from one hip to the next.

"Bag?"

"Fendi."

"Shoes?"

"Manolo."

"That pashmina wrap?"

"Versace."

"Do you own any Jaclyn Smith?"

Cordelia made a face. "No."

Tim clapped his hands. "My work here is done."

Cordy smiled. "You didn't do anything."

Tim smiled. "Exactly."

"Mason, why is your dress form in the street?"

That's a dress form? I thought it was a dummy."

"Dummies have heads, and are generally not in workrooms at Parsons."

Mason finished rolling the joint. "It was scaring me."

Tim sighed. "Mason, I'm worried that you're not going to finish your garment on time."

Mason shrugged. "It's done." He pointed to a finished dress on another dress form. "Right there."

Tim frowned. "Mason, that's Roxy's dress."

Mason smiled. "Oh, well, uh yeah, I mean, I helped her with it."

Tim's brows knitted together and he placed a finger on his pursed lips. "I think I might have to go have a talk with the producers, but in the meantime, you need to retrieve the dress form from the middle of Fifth Avenue."

Mason tucked the joint behind his ear. "I did finish my garment, but Daisy stole it, you know."

Tim nodded, patting Mason's shoulder. "Go get the dress form."

"And then ya put the shot glass in the beer, and you're good to go," Logan said, dropping the small glass into his beer.

Tim sat back in his bar seat. "I'm dubious."

Logan took a drink. "I'm Logan."

Tim smiled. "You're an amusing man."

Logan shrugged. "Yeah. It happens."

Tim shifted in his seat, unsure of how to ask something. "What brings you here tonight?" If Logan was here for the event, well, he'd found his man.

"I don't know. I gotta admit, that when I saw the sign outside for 'Bear Night', I thought there'd be all kinds of weird people in costumes."

Tim sipped his Cosmo with a smile. "Like furries?"

Logan shrugged. "Yeah, but it's just a bunch of guys." He lit his cigar underneath the bar's no smoking sign. Tim was about to correct him, but really, he didn't think it was a good idea. Plus, it was kind of hot.

"You're a furry?"

Logan snorted. "No. But I appreciate strange crowds."

In the corner, Tim heard Michael's high-pitched laugh. He was not going home with him again. "Oh, you have come to the right place."
