That's what Writer In A Drawer was. I belive it usually goes inactive when there's active canon. You can shoot the maintainer an email and see if they plan to do another. Fannishwaldo ... I think was the maintainer of it?
yeah, there's a general malaise in writing for TW right now. I think there was a similar drop off after CoE. But WIAD is the best known, if it can get off the ground, it's still the one most likely to draw in enough authors to make it work.
There was a woman who was running ... dozen's of LAS but she just had RL shit on her big time and most of them are down (was in the kink one briefly, before I remembered I don't do well in contest environments).
There was a bunch of LAS comms about, but they kind of died. Mostly due to the mod in charge having RL crap on her. If they come back up, I'll poke you. There was a Jack/Ianto one along with a more general one - but I'm not sure if it was Torcwood specific or more Whoverse that included Torchwood.
I went from reading 4 hours of fic a day to now maybe thirty minutes a week. As a voracious reader, I'd definitely appreciate something to spark the great writers into action. Make it happen, yo!
I don't tend to check comms anymore either, but if someone did decide to get it going, I think there are enough of us who could use our personal journals to get word out.
I wish I had a more reliable schedule! I've learned that making any time sensitive commitments, as a beta or co-writer or what have you, tend to blow up in my face.
This sounds like loads of fun and I don't know why. I've never done one and I haven't written Torchwood fic in ages, except for a porny Tosh fic I did for mmom.
I do love short fic. I don't really write anything else. I've, admittedly, always been intimidated by WIAD. I remember thinking about signing up for it and chickening out.

Date: 2011-08-18 06:06 pm (UTC)The big Whoverse one sort of scared me. At the time I learned about it, I had fandom knowledge but was a bit rusty with writing in it.
