six degrees of separation

It started with me innocently trying to figure out when "shit just got real". I thought it was from Hott Fuzz. But I was distracted:

Oh! It's from Bad Boys 2! EVEN BETTER! (The vid poster's note in the vid makes this bonus.)

Then the clicking began. (The poster's description of the clip pretty much made me want to to watch it: Ryan O'Neal in Norman Mailer's "Tough Guys Don't Dance" demonstrates the most melodramatic line reading of all time.)

And then: According to John Barrowman, he was directed to say anything to get a certain reaction out of his costar. This is what he came up with (nope, it wasn't in the script). He thought that this bit would be edited out, but it never was!

ALL ROADS LEAD TO BARROWMAN.

Eventually, I got to this:

R2D2 IS ONE FUNNY ASS MUTHERFUCKER.

BUT STILL. I THINK THIS MIGHT BE THE MOST EMOTION WE GOT FROM ANY OF THOSE ACTORS IN THE FILMS.

I LOVE YOU TAP DANCING BOBA FETT:

"THIS ISN'T PART OF THE MOVIE AT ALL, THIS IS JUST A CRUEL JOKE, ISN'T IT?" OH NATALIE.

AND NOW, THE THING I WAS NOT LOOKING FOR AND YET DIDN'T KNOW I WANTED:

Also, looking at it from the other direction, those Youtube videos elicited more emotional reaction from me than all three prequels. I could watch R2D2 bloopers FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.

Seeing that made me realize why the acting may not have been up to snuff. I mean, could you act those terrible lines hanging around so many blue and green screens everywhere?

I think sometimes the screens might be a hinderance. I know they say that ac tors should be able to do it no matter where they are, but that's like thinking that you can join the mile high club and not have your performance affected by the fact that the attendant might discover you at any second.
