alba17 gave me J for Jack in that music meme thing.



1. "Joyful, Joyful" by the St. Francis Choir. Yeah, this is the scene from Sister Act 2, which wasn't a very good movie, but did have some gorgeous work by Lauryn Hill.

2. "Jewel Song" from Faust by Gounod. I was going to put the beginnign, which is called "Je voudrais bien savoir" but I couldn't find any good youtubes. The performer is Maria Callas. The actual song starts at 2:00.

3. "Just for a Thrill" by Ray Charles. Yeah baby.

4. "Just What I Needed" by The Cars Sifl and Olly.

5. "Joey" by concrete blonde. I don't talk about them much, but concrete blonde is my long time lover. Since…what? 1988? Something like that? Johnette forever. FOREVER. They disabled the embedding, bastards.

Oh, you. I've never seen SA2 but that "Joyful, Joyful" brought a wee tear to my eye.

In Tintin, La Castafiore always makes her entrance singing the opening of the Jewel Aria.

I love that number from Sister Act, and am always touched at how moved the dear departed Michael Jeter is in that one quick close-up.

(hmmm... there's a lot of actors in that movie that aren't with us any more)

On a brighter note I do love how stylin' they all are when they take their robes off. :)
