1. God, season 4 of Angel is such a beautiful moral quagmire. On the other hand, the credits to the latest ep came on and the kidlet—
Kid: AR AR ARR!
Me: O_o? Pirates?
Kid: points to Mutant Enemy logo.
Me: Grrr arg.
2. Last night I ate about a pound of Good n Plentys, aka licorice pastilles, and now I can with a fair amount of surety say that I understand why Fred and George call them Puking Pastilles.
3. I wish we could turn more classic comic panels in to mock Jack Chick tracts.

The verdict? It was like making a crust out of crushed cheese-its and filling it with apples. It was good!

NEW PROJECT?

OMG what the shit is that?

Oh. Yes please.
Oh, and new toes:

5. The Tudors, The Tudors, The Tudors. Okay I never though I would say this, but I felt bad about Thomas Cromwell. I also felt bad for Anne Boleyn, too, so I guess that doesn't say much for me. I can tell that I'll be torrenting season 4 as it airs. DAMN YOU!
6. Dexter, book 3.
Oh sure yay now, let's blame the whole Dark Passenger thing on demonic possession. Did Lindsay finally find gor or something? I loved that Rita's kids are little budding serial killers themselves and that Dexter is helping them, and I love that when it saw the first killings at the beginning of the book, the Dark Passenger left town, but to then make it all about the god Moloch and Solomon? WTF off the deep end?
The supernatural is always the easy way out, and once again, in order to feel better about ourselves as human beings we have to blame the evil that is humanity on some sort of spectral third party. Bleaugh. On the other hand, Lindsay is still a funny writer, and that saved him.
7. The Sopranos--it's not like I haven't seen it before. But damn, I love that ending. And I'm not allowed to talk about it, because I don't want to spoil it for Little Brother.
8. Speaking of—Little Brother and I are collabing, and it's going to be AWESOME, and read by one person. LOLOR5.

Date: 2010-03-24 04:40 pm (UTC)I will let you know. It's from a french terrine book, and ALREADY IT'S TEDIOUS, because it calls for "garni", which I thought might be parsley, but no, it calls for that separately. I take that back. It's bouquet garni. I hate bouquet garni.
THREE UNCOOKED LOBSTERS.

Date: 2010-03-24 04:45 pm (UTC)Isn't "bouquet garni" just a bunch of herbs tied together with string, or cheesecloth or something? I would have thought that's no biggie.
Yeah, I've been increasingly disappointed with Dexter. The longer the series goes, the more I fear they're trying to make him "likeable" or "accessible" as a character, which is precisely NOT the point! He's a fucking SERIAL KILLER. A PSYCHOPATH. I'll take, "the definition of antihero" for $400, Alex!

Date: 2010-03-24 04:53 pm (UTC)Yes on the Dexter thing. I hate when they try to explain it, and I really hated in season two when he went to rehab. ::eyeroll::

Date: 2010-03-24 07:19 pm (UTC)I read your comment about the Puking Pastilles to the boyfriend and he started in with a rhythmic "GoodandPlenty GoodandPlenty" choo-choo style until I was forced to sing the damned commercial jingle.
Once upon a time there was an engineer,
Choo-choo Charlie was his name, we hear,
He had an engine and he sure had fun,
He used Good and Plenty candies to make his train run.
Charlie says, "Love those Good and Plentys!"
Charlie says, "Really rings a bell!"
Charlie says, "Love those Good and Plentys! Don't know any other candy that I love so well!"
There. Now you can suffer along with me until the ear worm dies.

Date: 2010-03-25 05:19 am (UTC)The teaching of knife skillz was pretty good. Dunno if I'll ever apply the pepper peeling technique because I really like the pepper skins. And I'm still not sure on the stance. I'll need to make some more food to find out. But truly, you taught me to not be too anal about making sure things are the same size. And how to chiffonade parsley in a way that doesn't take 30 minutes for a 1/4 cup.
