so I have an email that says:

You have a parcel with the Ups Courier Service United Kingdom, please confirm your correct delivery address to this ups courier address below

ups-post-uk@post.com
Call; +44-70-111-32860

Is this some sort of spam? Or did one of you people send me a package? Is it quarantined by customs? You should know better than to send body parts through the mail. Again. Swine flu and all.

This looks vaguely similar to an email my work sent to us, saying it was spam and to delete. But I could be wrong! You could do a search on the phone number...

I have the bad habit of saying something is spam when it isn't, so I figured I'd get a 2nd opinion!

But I coated it in Anthrax so the Swine Flu would be sterilized! D:

HAAAHAHAHAHA. I WAS GOING TO MAKE JOKES ABOUT SENDING ME GDL IN A BOX BUT I THOUGH EVERYONE WOULD BE SKEEVED.

Actually, see , someone said they might send me a big box of flavoured crisps when I got back, so I thought maybe they had, and there was an error or something.

In general, a legitimate courier would attempt a delivery, and then leave you a notice in your mail/on your door/in another (theoretically) logical place if you had a parcel.

A quick check via Google seems to indicate that this is consistent with some varieties of scam e-mail.

I'd say you can delete it with confidence.

ALREADY BAHLEETED.

Sad, because I was hoping it was for a box full of Ludlow Sausage flavoured crisps. :(

I get that email at least once a week, so I'd assume it's spam. Although, it was confusing the first time since I had just ordered a CD from the UK.

Yeah, that was why I was unsure.

It's so much easier when spam is clearly spam.

seems you've already confirmed it is spam, but if you actually did have a package, wouldn't you get a phone call or a letter/postcard thing?
i live in the boonies, so sometimes we have to actually go to the post office to pick up packages (though usually they just dump stuff on the porch and leave, bastards) and we get a letter in the mail or a phone call telling us to come pick it up - never an email

Yeah, when I used to live in the country and had to go get my shit from ups, they would send me a card.

Well, at least parcels are nicer spam than "Hi, my name is Ninotchka looking for good husband for wife and two children!" :/

That happened at my work and when the person who got it clicked on the link (either that or opened the e-mail at I can't remember) it sent out a virus to the whole off and several computers had to be reformatted multiple times as I recall.
