I let it germinate...
Nov. 24th, 2003 02:32 pmAnd now, I finally puked up ten of my own.
1. While many people can write Adam Piersom, not many can write Methos. I suspect that it's because of moral stance (meaning that the writer has one, while Methos does not), but I'm not so sure.
2. There are people in fandom who invite flames, but not because they intentionally want to stir up trouble. It is because they have never understood that fandom is not black and white. These people are not for meta, because they ask the same questions over and over. One should just realize that they are not good conversationalists and move on.
3. While there is nothing wrong with teh pretteh, it only goes so far to inspire slash.
4. Wolverine is not slashable. Unless he's having a one time with Gambit. The moment they stay in the same bed/couch/cabin/whatever to sleep, you've gone OOC. Unless one of them is dying.
5. I'm tired of MPREG. It never worked. It never will.
6. RPS? Not a big deal, either way.
7. Canon-heavy stories that do not deviate into any new area, and instead deal with only what is on the screen (or in the book) are often boring.
8. Anne Rice Vampires do not, contrary to popular opinion, boff. They don't even exchange blood for fun that much that I can see. Someone is confusing VC with FK.
9. There needs to be less schmoopy Duncan/Methos. I read them and crust over with saccharine like a cartoon character who has just gotten out of a pool of cement.
10. Joss Whedon's arcs are getting more and more irritating because people expect them now, and when they don't get them, they insist that a season is poorly done.
"Kids, I'm going to give you the official definition of thre word 'uncle.' Use uncle to refer to the brother of one of your parents, not to refer to the man your mother is currently banging." --Kids in the Hall

Date: 2003-11-24 04:25 pm (UTC)To be fair, I GAVE Mpreg all I could. I read a whole Clark/Lex one that involved Clark saving the day in a purplr mumu. I also have read about five Harry/Snape ones because I was desparate for new slash. I read part of one Methos/Dunan, and wept, because that is my OTP (when I do write slash, which is rare), and that ended MPREG for me. No more.
