God, it's just. Yeah. It's kind of awesome that RTD wanted to make a scifi show that hits so close to home, that maps scary plausibility of societal decline and governmental callousness and apathy-- but did he have to do it with our show? Our characters?

I. There's no hope in the end. No redemption. No aspiration, or joy. Brutality and helplessness. That's not the message about the human race that DW/TW (or really, any show) should be aiming at, right? There's darkness and then there's...nihilism.
