holy shitbears batman
1. Still pissed about everything. Hrm.
2. Morning emails have revealed that partial pissiness is not unjustified. This is enlightening.
3. Was thinking of cleaning the house today. Sounds good. I am dismantling my dining room work station and relegating the computer to the recreational slot of "coffee table." Hopefully this will convince me that it is not as important as I have made it. I don't need a desk. I don't have a job. I need a dining room table.
4. I had big long post about hip-hop, but you people don't find the same things funny that I do, and so this is how the comments would unfold:
a) I get a bunch of tl;dr about music. This is the part where everyone talks about what they are currently listening to (Sidebar conversation about Lady GAGA, and possibly a funny joke about Bad Romance=Barrowmance).
b) I get yet more recommendations that I listen to some shit music that I hate, bonus points if their name ends in Wainwright, extra bonus if someone comes right after and wither bonds with the music suggester or says something like, "HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE X WAINWRIGHT/COSTELLO/HUMPERDINK?" when I fess up about not liking them. (Additional, I also hate Simon and Garfunkel--this was the source of several bitter arguments in my household.)
c) Someone will make fun of my music, even though I would never make fun of theirs (to their face), but they'll do it in a passive-aggressive way that indicates that they are "just joking! I joke because I love!" when in reality they really do hate my music and they can't just keep their fucking mouth shut about it, because they think everyone needs to hear their opinions on everything.
d) Someone will mention international rap or something. Bonus points for mentions of Daara J or MIA, the flavour of the moment.
d) There will also be a fight about rap objectifying women.
f) Then someone will talk about white people listening to rap.
Then there will be race!fail in my lj.
[insert bleaugh]
So no, I had a funny ass entry about how goddamn masterful, faily and funny this song was, but you all ruined it before it began.
Being pissy has somehow removed the filter from my frankness pipe. I am sure that we are all nice people in RL, but the internet turns us all into cliches, including me, the woman with PMS who posts irrationally one a month and everyone on her flist rolls their eyes and scrolls by, mumbling, "Someday I'll defriend that bitch." I know because I do it all the time.
Also, I cleaned up my flist. Nothing personal, just different reading habits and a few dead ljs.

Just post your musical ruminations and turn comments off, frustrating those who would recommend things you hate! :D

and I have long accepted that I am a Simon and Garfunkel minority, and I have come to like "Cecelia" a little bit. It's like when people find that I have never seen Top Gun, and go "OMG WHY HAVEN'T YOU SEEN TOP GUN? IT'S AN INSTITUTION, YOU HAVE TO SEE TOP GUN." but more vehement, like they think I just haven't heard the right S&G song or something.
It's amazing how many conversations in the world about personal preferences are just less offensive versions of "honey you're a lesbian because you haven't met the right man."
I'm just ruminating out loud here. Your April Fools blog sounds great!

I like music which makes me lol or is linguistically interesting. Often I suspect I have missed the point.
Also, I have never seen Top Gun.

Music!Wankers. As long as it's got a good baseline or percussion and makes you wanna boogey while cleaning the toilet, it's all good.
They can't take my Barrowman/Neil Diamond lovefest away from me! Or your hip to the hop away from you! *has pitchfork*

I'm reminded of the time when someone "broke into" my rusty buick and stole my walkman (which I had attached to little speakers so I could listen to hawt tapes in my shitty car), and subsequently stole an awesome mix tape you sent me :(
I don't think you ever sent me hip hop though...I like hip hop...I wish I still had a walkman..again sadness :P
Also, I dated a boy who liked S & G...Barf

LOL I like cigarettes and chocolate milk, or whatever that song is, but I just, he's nice, but I would never buy his stuff, or DL it, you know? I think we all just have preferences.
Go take a nap.

I LOVE Simon & Garfunkel. I really, really do. I used to sing Kathy's song to my oldest baby like a lullaby. You don't need to know this. I have a varied taste; depends on my mood. I'm still kinda stuck in the 80's but there is some 21st century stuff on my ipod. I loved Abba when they weren't cool (I was 12) and I still do. You love what you love.
I cleaned up my Facebook flist and got hatemail! Too funny. I was upset for about an hour (actually maybe a day).
Moody is fine with me.

OMG I have never got hatemail for cleaning the flist, but there is a first time for everything, fr srs. My mum gets it when she does her flist clip. They are like, "Y DID U DEFRIEND ME?" and she's like, "sigh, I'll friend you back, my bad." and in her head she's all, "BECAUSE U R CRAZYCAKES."

Course I'm disallowed from judging anyone anyways, because my musical knowledge comes largely from the radio spoon feeding it to me with a few exceptions that I won't list. I mean, I've never owned an iPod and I've learned over the years that I have little use for any music player (despite owning several through the years).

I very much enjoyed meeting you at Hub 3, I apologize for being too scared to know how stand up to Martin, and I appreciate the support that you offered me on a particularly painful post of mine.
Thank you.
