I got stuck at Irish fandom. Is that a fandom for Ireland? Did I miss something? I don't know.

I don't know. I think it was the idea of banning someone from a con, and then the screaming, and then the banning someone from someone's blog until the lurkers contact them, and I just realised that grown ups run the world. These are grown ups.

I think it's fandom in Ireland. I don't think Ireland has a fandom. Or if it does, it's probably not made up of Irish people.

I'd try and brighten your with my hilarious inner monologue about being fannish about Ireland except it's descended into slightly dubious jokes about the IRA and requires epic footnotes about the history of Northern Ireland and the Republic to explain why it's not quite funny.

The Irish language kerfuffle amused me. One of the very best things about being in Ireland was watching South Park dubbed in Irish.

Man, that would be awesome to see.

Pretty much everything is bilingual, right from when the plane lands, which I actually thought was quite awesome and not wanky at all. There's an Irish-language tv channel, which is how I found South Park, because I ended up spending far more time than originally planned in my (awesome) hotel room due to travel plague.

IIRC Wales is kinds the same way, which is AWESOME.

Yeah, you'll get a lot of that in Wales. I've never been there, but it's quite high on my list. I don't need to mention how jealous I am, do I?
