Yeah, it was warmer when it first started, so we had a nice layer of sneet (I totally ship snow with sleet: OTP!) that turned into a thin sheet of ice after dark. But, still, you drive like a sane person, it's OK. We live in Ohio, though, so that's impossible. Despite the fact we routinely get multiple annual snowfalls, people always freak out the minute it gets deep enough to make a footprint.
Nonetheless, they predicted anywhere from 8-12", but I can still see belleh (I always measure snow based on how much cat remains viewable when I toss it into the snow, far more reliable). I am woefully disappointed.
What snow we are getting does seem rather damp and heavy. As you noted, the trees are looking somewhat pendulous. On the bright side, Hurricane Ike cleared out all the weak shit last year, so I don't anticipate much in the way of tree loss or damage. And tomorrow? Total photo ops.
