Apparently, in order to keep the classification of a "zoo" the aviary needs to have at least one mammal on the premeses. Hence: sloth. Snaeky and cool.

The Queens Zoo has a giant geodesic dome Aviary full of awesome birds. One of the best features is a concrete walkway that climbs smoothly through the canopy. Very sixties and futuristic. Definitely worth a look if you are in New york. It's also next to the rocket park and Science Museum. Gorgeous.

Yeah, the aviary here has always just been huge rooms that you walk through, and they're pretty old by now, rather Victorian. We have a conservatory that is much the same way, and I love the spring, because they make one of them a butterfly room.
