We held gold dust in our hands master post

Hi everyone. This is Amand-r with a special message.

This is the best fic I have ever written. For srs. Read this first.

This is the bastard love child of someone saying something on LJ. This time I don't even remember who it was. [livejournal.com profile] angstslashhope? THAT THE WORLD NEEDED MORE SERIOUSLY POLY POLYAMORY FIC. THIS HAS CURTAINS. This is incredibly indulgent. And ZOMG, THERE'S PORN. AND BABIES.

I don't know where this came from. I might have started it before CoE, I might not have. I might have started it in that interim period in which I was petulant about CoE. I dunno. And then I was like, 'well, write a poly fic'. And then someone said that they wanted to see a fic where Jack walks away from it all, intact, whole, with his lover, in triumph, really, and I was like, 'I can do that.' AND THEN, someone said that they wanted to see Ianto meet Jack's daughter in a good way, and Ianto's family meet Jack in a good way, and it started to get ridic, and I figured in for a penny, in for a pound.

I am aware that it's too long, and it's very hurt/comfort, and it's domestic. Those might be its flaws. I kind of like it that way. I'm not interested in talking about how it could be better, or whatever. So there you go. It's sweet and strange, and I loved it, and that's all I got. If you didn't like it, for whatever reason, that is fine, but I felt like I had to do this, in some ways, and so. Hrm.

Just trust me. ::cracks knuckles:: Here we go.

thank you, thank you, thank you (here after [livejournal.com profile] rm recommended this)

it took me two days to read, but it is awesome, and hit such a chord that i quoted part of [seven] in my journal post http://alumiere.livejournal.com/346039.html about my memory issues and fear - if the attributed and linked quote isn't ok, please let me know and i'll direct everyone to your story instead

No no, that's fine! I'm glad you liked the story!

I feel for Jack, because there's no way he can remember things, and I don't doubt that the prospect is terrifying for him to know that things he currently cares about will be obliterated, even from his brain.

This is just beautiful. It's one of those "I'll never write this well" moments. And the catheter, good God, woman, you can take the most uncomfortable scenarios and make them tender, intimate, romantic, in a way they shouldn't be, leaving me sitting here going "why on Earth didn't I see that before?"

You really are amazing. And now onto the next chapter...

Omg! This was awesome!!! I loved every bit of it!! And I really loved how it left it with Jack leaving with Ianto, Lisa and the kids. Doesn't leave you sad. Really nice ending.

HOW HAVE I ONLY JUST READ THIS?? I've been reading it for the last week (one past a night) and have part 7 left for tonight. I think I get overwhelmed when I see a fic with 60K+ words, but SO glad I finally took time to read. Love the character (especially what you're done with Lisa), love the story, love everything.

[identity profile] amand-r.livejournal.com 2010-07-09 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Haahahaha YAY! I AM SO GLAD YOU LIKED IT! Now you know why I was writing all those lame ass fics for the Haiti thing!

Haahahahah. Lisa is the shit.

[identity profile] opium-and-tea.livejournal.com 2010-07-11 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
ME TOO! Finished it and read the first of the Haiti fics. Now I'm reading those. :) I just love this so much... I think it's the little things. All the everyday things you've thrown in that people think, feel, do, etc and never even notice. The way relationships sometimes evolve without you even noticing because it's so natural (even if it isn't to outsiders). Hopefully I'm making sense. I've several months late, but thanks for writing this.

[identity profile] amand-r.livejournal.com 2010-07-11 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
You made perfect sense. I am glad the little things moved you. They were part of the fun of writing this.

*Beep* You have reached reddevilpoes, or actually...you haven't. She is too busy reading up on long fics and reel_torchwood stuff. Commenting will resume when she has read it all. Don't call her back, she's got no time to listen anyway...*beep*

[identity profile] reddevilpoes.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 10:10 am (UTC)(link)
Coming up for air and comments...Have started on the torchwood 4 series...they are something. But this...this is great. never thought the idea of a serious polyamorous fic would be this great! I could live with threesomes, but this is beautiful!
Just the way you let them complete eachother and the people around them.
And the fact that it is not something that just works..you have to put effort in it and it is not all roses, sweet music and candlelight.
And Lisa is a plate-thrower. (nice detail)
I wil re-read this. It too good and I probably have missed things as well, first time, like with a good movie..you get sucked in and miss details..

Aw, thank you! I love this story!
