Biscotti: Hazelnut and Pistachio--sold out!

Both of these come from the same base, but what a difference zest and nuts make! This biscotti is mini-sized—great with espresso!

The hazelnut biscotti is flavored with filberts and tangerine zest—dark and rich and very nutty—good with a cup of coffee. The pistachio and lemon zest flavored biscotti—lighter in colour and flavour, with more fruity notes—would go excellent with tea. But don't take my word for it.. Try it yourself!

Cool fact: I don't like biscotti. But I have been nomming the ends all morning.

Ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, eggs, butter, [pistachios, lemon zest], [hazelnuts, orange zest].
Price: $7/package (specify hazelnut, pistachio, or a mix)
Available: SOLD OUT..

PAYMENT: If you want something, comment here! Then when I give the okay, paypal the fundage to amandr at gmail dot com.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffle Shortbread Sandwiches

While sitting here with a bunch of leftover peanut butter chocolate truffle mixture, I thought, “Well, Beavis, what do you do with this?” I made this up. Sort of. I mean, I combined recipes. That's when I'm at my best (that is where the chocolate caramel shortbread came from).

The shortbread is crumbly and melt-in-the-mouth good (the secret is subbing cornstarch for some of the flour), and the truffle mixture is pure chocolate/peanut butter/cream goodness. Each sandwich is mini (see picture) so as to be the perfect mouthful. And because they're so small, you get 20 little evil temptations!

Ingredients: butter, powdered sugar, cornstarch, flour, vanilla, salt, semisweet chocolate, peanut butter, heavy cream.
Price: $5/20
Available: SOLD OUT

PAYMENT: If you want something, comment here! Then when I give the okay, paypal the fundage to amandr at gmail dot com.

Cherry Bombs!

Hello Daddy, hello Mom, I'm your ch-ch-ch-ch-ch cherry bomb! These cookies are slightly bigger than bite size, but they pack a punch! The simple dough is sweet, and embedded in the middle is a maraschino cherry with the stem still on, making each little cookie look like a tiny bomb of awesome!

Ingredients: butter, sugar, eggs, baking soda, flour, baking powder, salt, maraschino cherries, powdered sugar.
Price: 7/dozen
Available: 2 dozen

PAYMENT: If you want something, comment here! Then when I give the okay, paypal the fundage to amandr at gmail dot com.

Strawberry Shortstack Cookies

WHO WANTS WAFFLES PANCAKES! I did it again. What can I say? Coloured sugar and strawberry syrup make these cookies pink as the day is long, sweet and chewy, with just a hint of strawberry to make you nostalgic for those days when your grandma gave you a basket and sent you outside, telling you not to return until you were laden with fruity goodness. And then when you didn't bring back enough, she might shut you in the closet and tell you it's elevator practice. Wait, no, don't think about that part. Think about how good strawberry cookies are.

I want to make corn cookies. Mmmm. Corm!

OM NOM NOM NOM.

Ingredients: butter, sugar, blueberry syrup, eggs, baking soda, flour, vanilla, salt.
Price: 7/dozen
Available: 2 dozen

Madeleines

Today is flavoured madeleines. I chose two recipes and went with them: nutella madeleines and raspberry madeleines. From there I also made apricot madeleines. OM NOM NOM.

The madeleines, blah blah French people, blah blah Proust, blah blah flashbacks. Usually lemon infused, these are the same seashell shape with all the love of different flavours. Others have tried to make savoury madeleines, so I might try them very soon. Sun dried tomato, anyone?

Ingredients: ALL COOKIES CONTAIN—sugar, orange zest, flour, salt, baking powder, butter, eggs. VARIED ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS: vanilla, nutella, red or yellow food dye, raspberry puree, apricot puree.
Price: $10/dozen
Available: 2 dozen asst, 1 dozen apricot, 2 dozen nutella

Order more than one dozen and get a dollar off per additional dozens!

ALSO AVAILABLE: 4 dozen fruit failies--aesthetically displeasing yet tasty love--5/dozen

Blueberry Shortstack Cookies: SOLD OUT

WHO WANTS WAFFLES PANCAKES! A variation of the traditional maple syrup infused cookies, these babies are flavoured with "all natural" blueberry syrup. At least, that's what the bottle says. And all that means is that there's no HFCS in it, so hooray for some things.

I coloured the sugar as well, so they're rather purple all over. I was going to make the sugar blue, but I remember from [livejournal.com profile] emquilxy's days doing market research at Heinz that people have a natural distrust of blue foodstuffs.

OM NOM NOM NOM.

Ingredients: butter, sugar, blueberry syrup, eggs, baking soda, flour, vanilla, salt.
Price: 7/dozen
Available: SOLD OUT

MAKING PIZZELLES TO SELL THIS WEEKEND.

[Poll #1748061]

I shall make the top two flavours.
amand_r: (OMG YAY)
This weekend we are back to the basics and back to the cheaper cookies. Five and six for a dozen! Come on, who wouldn't shell out a fiver for a dozen cookies to arrive at your doorstep this week? You won't have to do anything! Score! Isn't that the price of a trenta moka java latte crappucchino?

Weekend of comfort classics!! )

Next week: a recipe I had to translate from French! And an Austrian cookie. We'll toss them both in a bag and let them fight it out.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] blue_fjords is offering her awesome vegan cupcakes for sale today. I can testify that they are fantastic! Pop on over!

1.

Yeah.

2. My kid has dual ear infections. I like to think of this like deulling banjos. But with ear infections. And less ass pain and more ear pain.

ALSO: My kid has asthma. OTOH, her nebuliser is this cute little yellow thing with "Huffinpuff the Asthma Dragon" on it. When I saw it, I thought it said "Hufflepuff" because it's yellow/gold, and I wanted to ask them for a Ravenclaw one, but then I squashed my inner-nerd and reread it.

Every four hours. EVERY FOUR HOURS. AND PREDNISONE. AND OMNICEF.

I TOLD KID THAT SHE WAS DEFECTIVE AND THAT MAYBE I SHOULD RETURN HER, BUT THEN I REALISED THAT I'D BE RETURNING HER TO MY UTERUS, AND I THINK UNBIRTHING IS SQUICKY.

The mask is shaped like a fish face.

I SHALL CALL HER DARTH VIVI.

3. Watched Sherlock in its entirety (all three eps, I know, the strain). Don't get excited kiddies. It was okay, but yeah. That's about it. I think Moriarty is dumb, but I liked the "consulting criminal" excuse. Finally, something other than, "I'm baaaaaad!"

4. Made gluten free cookies, more than I thought I would. Fun fun fun. They're going on sale tomorrow. And good thing too, because I cannot keep myself from eating the peanut butter ones.

But I found a recipe for complicated cookies that you dip in powdered jello (they look like peaches!), and also I found a recipe that IMITATES OREO COOKIES. DON'T TELL ME THAT WON'T BE AWESOME. I also want to make balls of cake dipped in chocolate. SO MUCH TO TRY TO BAKE, SO LITTLE TIME.

5. Forward, backward, inward, outward, come and join the chase! Nothing could be drier Than a jolly caucus race! Backward, forward, outward, inward, bottom to the top! Never a beginning; there can never be a stop. To skipping, hopping, tripping fancy free and gay, started it tomorrow, but will finish yesterday!

6. Also, was thinking of what awesome poetry Supremes lyrics would make. In the style of cummings:

Baby.
baby.

baby don't leave me
please don't leave me

all by

my
self

i've got this yearning (burning) yearning

feelin' inside (me)
deep inside( me)

& it hurts so bad

See? Tomorrow I shall sing you "All Along the Watchtower" in the style of Ethel Merman.

Cookies of the week: THE TRIFECTA

I might be slightly off my rocker.

I have been a busy girl! )

Next weekend is gluten-free weekend!
amand_r: (rps/it's barrowman country!)

NOTE: If you friended this lj for the cookie entries, feel free to track the Buy mah cookies tag, and then you don't have to add me to your flist or reading list to get in on the leavings of my horrifying (and yet delicious) experiments. If you want to stay because I'm so gosh-darn loltastic, WELCOME.

So I am doing an experiment for V, and as a result, I have extra cookies this week. (V, yours actually look like this, but you get two more variations to try. They'll be mailed tomorrow).

Meet the limoncello shortbread with glaze (top). She's a feisty critter, With a crisp buttery taste and a sweet, slightly alcoholic glaze. These babies contain a tablespoon of lemon zest and a tablespoon of Mander's homemade limoncello.

Ingredients: butter, powdered sugar, limoncello, lemon zest, salt, flour. EGG FREE.

Then there is the limoncello meltaway (middle), a small round cookie baked briefly and then tossed with powdered sugar twice. These are so small (see final pic) they come in a batch of 14.

Ingredients: butter, powdered sugar, limoncello, vanilla, salt, flour, cornstarch. EGG FREE.

Sold out: Limoncello shortbreads.
Available: 1 dozen meltaways. $5 a dozen. Includes shipping costs. Due to glazes, they cannot be frozen, but will be shipped immediately for DA FRESHNESS.
